Are Halloween costumes public art? They’re everywhere, and they can be a great way for an “artist” to express himself or herself. So many materials can be utilized to create such works of art, and so much time and dedication can go into creating that perfect look. I believe that these costumes are art. For instance, there’s lots of color, and the appearance of the ensemble can radically change depending on who the individual is who is wearing it. Art is supposed to be fun sometimes, and the way one is dressed is one way for that individual to have fun and be unique.
I agree with you on how Halloween custome can be art. It was amazing how many people dressed up and it was so cool to see them. haha I love Halloween!
ReplyDeleteHalloween costumes are the equivalent to clothing that designers create and they are a lot more creative than the normal outfits people wear. It is definitely a display of public art since it is not confined to a museum but is all over the streets. I mean even looking at the picture of the girl dressed up in a cupcake outfit, it is quite creative for an artist to come up with that design.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love Halloween! It's my favorite non-gift-giving holiday because of the costumes. I remember one year we had Dick Cheney and the guy he shot while hunting come to our door. I love when you see a really creative, fun costume. It just makes your night.
